Aitek provides solutions for the design and implementation of toll collection systems for scenarios such as:

In order to improve the collection procedure, Aitek toll systems are capable of discriminating transits based on the vehicle type by classifying vehicles using criteria such as number of axles, weight, vehicle shape and compliance with environmental laws. The systems integrate hardware components for the generation and transmission of transit data, software applications for data processing and servers for data acquisition and storage.

Field devices (coils, height and weight sensors) detect the transit of vehicles at a toll gate and for every transit a gate computer generates a message with the transit data. The information is sent to an acquisition server and relayed to specific applications for toll billing, transit monitoring and the creation of reports and statistics.

Aitek's toll systems are capable of managing various collection modes:

• automatic mode: payment with prepaid cards, cash cards and credit cards, proximity systems at 13,56 MHz (RFId), cellphones or PDAs (Bluetooth), self-service payment devices.

• “Telepass” mode: payment with devices operating at radio frequencies, such as the DSRC systems at 5,8 GHz.

• Manual mode: cash payment with a dedicated operator.
