AiVu Devices

The AiVu Devices transform video signals from PAL / NTSC cameras in compressed digital format for transmission and / or recording over IP networks.

AiVu Devices are a core element of all AiVu solutions. AiVu Devices convert any PAL/NTSC video to digital stream for transmission over IP and/or recording on AiVu Servers.

Simply connect the video signal, a computer (via the built-in Ethernet port), power and the built-in secured web server will be ready for configuration and use.

AiVu Devices capture and compress video streams at up to 25 frames per second per channel (30 fps for NTSC), with a resolution of 4CIF (704x576). The highly efficient algorithms used in AiVu Devices are parametric, allowing quick tuning of network bandwidth, of storage usage and of video quality, with automatic balancing of bandwidth and quality in critical load situations.

AiVu devices are available in four functional types to satisfy different needs:

  • AiVu-deviceT: acquisition and IP transmission, for remote viewing and/or recording on AiVu Servers. Equivalent to a video server.

  • AiVu-deviceR: acquisition and local recording, ideal for standalone usage. Equivalent to a digital video recorder.

  • AiVu-deviceC: acquisition, local recording and IP transmission for local recording on hard disk and simultaneous IP transmission for remote viewing and/or recording on AiVu Servers. Ideal for remote sites with low/unreliable bandwidth connectivity.

  • AiVu-deviceV: acquisition, recording and IP transmission, for local recording on solid disk and IP transmission via GSM/GPRS/UMTS/WiFi/WiMax. Ideal for low/unreliable bandwidth mobile applications (taxi, bus, tramway, train, metro, ferry, ships, etc.)
