AiVu Mobile is an automotive product for video recording allowing to:

• acquire video signals from one or more video cameras;

• encode digital images according to one of different standards (MPEG4-H.263/4, MJPEG);

• store video sequences on a hard disk;

• manage the on-board system diagnostics;

• transmit images to a control center over wireless networks (GSM/GPRS/UMTS).

Images stored physically can be transferred to a PC-Console (e.g., a notebook) or to a central server over an IP connection, wirelessly as well if required.

The display client is an easy and quick tool to search the video sequence archives. Images or sequences of interest are selected using keys containing information on the vehicle identification number, video camera, date, hour/minute.

The selected sequences are displayed in a window player providing all the typical features of a VHS video recorder (play, fast forward, rewind, stop, pause, single frame). The AiVu-Device V is installed on board the vehicles and provides image acquisition. The device is made of a sturdy steel case containing an integrated digital recorder and a router for the remote connection to the control center.
